Meyers Beach features 'stacks' that come right in to the beach, one of them with a tunnel thru it. At extreme low tides you can walk out and through the tunnel. A little known fact is that in the middle of the tunnel there is a large hole through the ceiling (a fact I discovered one day when I kayaked through).
Parking and access to Meyers Beach is about as simple as it gets. When driving Highway 101 about 14 miles south of Gold Beach simply pull off into any one of about about 6 pullouts. Locate the path that goes to the beach. Enjoy. All parking lots are at about 25' elevation so the walk is simple and easy.
Meyers Beach features a beach that slopes very slowly into the ocean. This shallow sloping beach provides extraordinary surfing and wind surfing opportunity. Meyers Beach has been the site of Windsurfing World Championship Competitions many times.
Especially in the early morning or late evening Meyers Beach offers unparalleled picture taking opportunity. If you are a photographer do yourself a favor and plan a morning or evening at Meyers Beach.

BAILEY BEACH, OREGON ~ Oceanfront & Ocean View Real Estate
Bailey Beach, approximately 3 miles long, is located immediately north of Gold Beach.
Most noted for the fact that you can drive your vehicle on it, this beach is also the closest beach to the Rogue Reef, which offers incredible views.
Access to Bailey Beach is easy:
- You can access from the Rogue River north jetty.
- You can access south of Rogue Shores via either vehicle or by foot.
- You can access north of Rogue Shores from several paths that lead to the beach. There is ample parking at each trailhead.
- You can access Bailey Beach by hiking on the Oregon Coast Trial south from Otter Point. The Oregon Coast Trail drops down to the beach at the north end. Bailey Beach can also be very pleasantly viewed from Otter Point. There is amble parking at Otter Point.
- Access from the Rogue Shore community is discouraged. Public access is more appropriate either north or south of Rogue Shores.
You can walk for many enjoyable hours on Bailey Beach. In addition to the clean sand and the gentle slope of the beach, there is wonderful opportunity to hunt for driftwood, shells, and other beach valuables.
It is interesting to note that items that float down the Rogue River are usually deposited on either South Beach or Bailey Beach.

South Beach is located immediately west of Gold Beach. The west edge of Gold Beach is South Beach! South Beach is approximately 7 miles long, spanning from the Rogue River south to Cape Sebastian.
Access to South Beach is easy:

At Hunter Creek park at the Kissing Rock pullout and walk to South Beach.

In Gold Beach from Highway 101 turn toward the ocean on 5th Place and work your way to Oceanside Drive. It's just a block or two.

In Gold Beach from Highway 101 turn toward the Ocean on Moore Street and wind your way past the post office, port facilities and airport to the Rogue River South Jetty and Oceanside Drive.

Nesika Beach is located north of Gold Beach, starting perhaps 5 miles north of Gold Beach and going north possibly 10 miles or more to Frankport.
The easiest access point is the viewpoint that pulls off Highway 101 to the west. In the image below it would be at about the (top) Nesika Beach text. This viewpoint offers immediate access to Nesika Beach. The sand comes right up to the parking lot. From this beach you will be able to see whales (in season), watch surfers (in season), walk or jog at any time of year, collect beach treasures, photograph, and relax.
The air that comes off of the ocean at Nesika Beach is just as clean as the air on Meyers Beach, South Beach, and Bailey Beach. It is about the purest that air can get. And the beaches are spotless and clean and for some strange reason uncrowded.
